At Mater Research, we a have a diverse student community and a positive, friendly, supportive, team-oriented culture that will help you reach your full potential.
The Student Research Committee assists with providing academic and professional development support for students and runs a series of professional development training events and workshops, which allow students to continue to develop their skills in areas such as delivering formal presentations, preparing grant applications and thesis writing.
Our Student Research Committee also organises a number of social gatherings, activities, and networking events so you will have many opportunities to get involved, meet your peers and make new friends.

The Mater Hospital campus in South Brisbane is conveniently located in Brisbane’s inner city and is close to high frequency public transport options that connect Mater with the Translational Research Institute (TRI) in Woolloongabba, the CBD, local universities and key suburbs across Brisbane.
There are a number of dedicated student accommodation located nearby in South Brisbane, the CBD or other inner city suburbs that feature modern furnishings & facilities as well as having a myriad of cafes, bars, restaurants, gyms, parks and retailers on their doorstep.
